From the Gorgeous Washington Street Association:

A New Venue, One Year Anniversary & More Highlight Next First Friday
Art Walk – JULY 1

Enjoy two “firsts” on July 1st First Friday … a new venue on State Street and a 1st anniversary at a Court St. artist studio/gallery, and some Americana/Indie Rock original music at another venue who will also host a free event, “Change Your Life.”  Voila! … kick off your Independence Weekend at Binghamton, NY’s, First Friday Art Walk!

The  first “first,” as the newest First Friday venue, Community
Options, Inc. (182 State St., Artists’ Row between Henry/Lewis Sts.)
will host an art show entitled “Uprising” featuring abstracts by Alicia Wagner.

The  second “first,” Quarter Yellow Studios (33 Court St., 2nd Fl. in the JungleScience Art Loft), will celebrate its 1st Anniversary featuring an exhibit, “Passing Impressions, Ephemeral Moments of My Life” of paintings by Farideh Lotfiyan. Kady Perry, artist and QYS owner who also serves as secretary on the Gorgeous Washington Street Association (GWSA) Board, said “it’s the one year anniversay of Quarter Yellow Studios since it entered the scene in July 2010.”

At Lost Dog Cafe (222 Water St., corner Henry St.), enjoy art, music and an inspirational talk with photographer Kim Johnson:  “Burst of Blooms:  The Floral Fireworks Collection of Aremac Gallery” (Thru July 2011) and music by Not From Wisconsin of Ithaca, performing Americana/Indie Rock originals from 8-10 PM.  In the Violet Room, back again for a second month, there’s “Change Your Life” program with intuitive counselor Linda Dickinson and inspirational speaker Jane Ehrich from 7-9 PM, free admission.  Participants will learn how to make positive changes in their life and Linda will give select readings to the audience, free of charge.

Be sure to stop by Imagicka (Gorgeous Washington St. at Hawley St.), featuring The Humane Society.  Art patrons can find out how to help The Humane Society rescue abused and abandoned animals and prevent animal cruelty and how you could win $1,000,000 by adopting a rubber duck for our Duck Derby.   Also, there’s Helena Belly Dance and Tarot Readings by Crystal Wind, $10 for 10 minutes.
